Long Ago
Divilu Productions started as a seed in 2006 based on a graphic design assignment and wishful thinking. Back then, founder Kate Ackley had simply dreamed of having an animation company one day. She always had an affinity for imagining fantastical stories, crafting characters and animals, and creating elaborate worlds. These worlds and stories started their existence in whatever school assignments she could place them in, leading to an ever-expanding library of tales to pull from now. When the day arrived that she was tasked with creating her own company for a project final, she never thought what she’d toyed with all her life would begin to take root.
It's often said that whatever skills come our way in work or life tend to cultivate into future purpose. Seeds of a company were often watered in fun outlets like fanfiction or drawing for friends and clients. Each story or piece might have seemed like nothing at the time but upon stepping back proved to be the water needed for the garden now growing. Or, in artists terms, each stroke has created a work of art.
At the end of the day, Divilu Productions was always and is intended to give you, the adventurer, a breath of fresh air. With instability and negativity all around, we want to give you inspiration and hope. We aim to provide laughs for today and the encouragement to continue to put one foot in front of the other.
Who We Are
Kate, Founder & Owner
Truth be told, Kate never meant to stumble into any of this. She has loved drawing and writing since the womb, hoped to publish a book one day, but always viewed these things as hobbies. Little did she know that God had other plans in store for her which would lead her not only into animation, but directing, screenwriting and producing in the wildest of ways. While she can’t pinpoint an exact moment where this company became more than some far off dream, she can see how the fabric of her life has led her here.

The Divilu, which the studio is named after, has roots in Latin for blessed wolf. Her creation dates back at least three decades but she looked vastly different then. From the earliest concepts of this company in high school, she has always been the forefront of the design. Just as she’s grown and developed over the years, so has this company, making her the perfect mascot of a blossoming studio.

The accursed two letter abbreviation! All artwork is drawn by hand using a Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. More would be drawn in sketchbooks, but this den only has so much space to hold the million and a half sketchbooks which currently reside here.

The art style here at Divilu Productions tends to run realism mixed with flair and playfulness which creates a whimsical feeling. Drawing more serious or cartoony does happen at times, but we remain committed to our mission of inspiring others in a variety of ways.
